How to find freedom in detention? How can we let grace touch us in the depths of our hearts? This film introduces us to the little-known prison environment, but above all to the personal experience of inmates who live a spiritual journey of peace and inner freedom behind bars.
Virginie and Laurent are prison chaplains in the prison of Caen (north-west France). They run the Alpha course there, which allows people to discover God's love, to meet Jesus and to experience the power of the Holy Spirit. Through this film, we will discover the work of the Lord in the life of Gwenaël, a repeat offender who finds new life through a journey of faith and a support network of people around him.
This film was produced and directed by Neuf Media, in partnership with Alpha Prison.

Intercession

We can pray that the Lord may come and visit all our inner prisons and everything that prevents us from living fully free. May the Lord do his work of liberation in depth. We can entrust to the Lord all those detainees who are about to be released. At that sensitive moment may they find, in the Church and in each one of us, brothers and sisters to welcome them and support them on a path of life.

Word of the month

"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a]; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbour as yourself.”

Galatians 5:13-14
